New Contract Continues Edvantia's Work With Tennessee Schools
Edvantia will continue to administer Tennessee’s Exemplary Educators program under a newly awarded $4.2 million contract. The program helps struggling schools perform better and meet federal standards for improving student achievement. Edvantia collaborated with the Tennessee Department of Education in 2000 to develop the program. Tennessee schools have seen the positive results from the partnership. The Tennessee Department of Education recently announced that about 15 percent of schools statewide did not meet AYP. In 2003, 47 percent were struggling; in 2004, it was 19 percent. Exemplary Educators, many of whom are retired school administrators with many years of experience in education, are intensely trained by Edvantia to work with school and district staffs in core areas associated with improved performance and student achievement.
