  • Find creative ways to meet the needs of underserved students in rural areas. The Rural Education Center at Edvantia helps clients leverage rural strengths to address educational needs.

  • Provide online professional development for teachers and administrators. Floridaleaders.net and others have taken advantage of Edvantia's online and on-site professional development.

  • Benefit from what the research says about teacher quality. Get research-based professional development on effective questioning techniques, science, and math. Edvantia is a professional development affiliate of the Partnership for 21st Century Skills.

  • Use a third-party evaluator to improve programs and document progress. Clients love our rigorous yet collaborative approach to program evaluation.
  • IDEA Part B
  • Address assessment, alignment, and accountability issues. The Alignment Center at Edvantia has helped Kentucky, Nevada, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and North Carolina to refine their general and alternate assessments. Edvantia offers a reliable, fully developed model for conducting studies of alternative assessments, including those based on modified standards.

  • Develop local leaders in math and science. Edvantia administered an NSF-funded Coalfield Rural Systemic Initiative in 18 Virginia and West Virginia school districts. At least 20 of 42 educators trained through the initiative have since moved into leadership positions. And 10 of the Virginia high schools associated with the program went from low-performing to appearing among the top 45 high schools in the state, according to U.S. News & World Report.
  • Innovation

  • Identify and scale up best practices. Edvantia has been doing this through the award-winning Tennessee Exemplary Educators program since 2001. And research and evaluation specialists partner with states, districts, and commercial service providers to conduct rigorous research studies and report practical implications.

  • Effectively involve families. Educators use Edvantia's popular, ready-to-use preK and K-1 learning guides to show parents how they can boost their child's learning.
